Petals From the Edge Lady Snow Emerald Flake awarded on 20-May-2000 (Forced on her by the Architect and all the Scribes of the Castle) Up on the edge I watched the blackness turn a soft cotton candy pink, ice cream orange, and crayola lilac Is it no wonder I create my escape up here His blanket of stars cover me, when I'm chilled and my words start to fan a fire in my soul Fingers reach for the record button, or pen...sometimes not fast enough, and I'm left looking, longing... aching to create those images, here for you... up on the edge... My head swims, and so many words are caught within my chest ... emotions swallowed by this beauty this, blush of heaven exposed.... and yet truly unseen by the eye To experience ... this, you hold your breath eyes focused...but relaxed and you wait listen... hush....slowly very s l o w l y as you exhale Up, over the rim bursting with hope and life another reason another gift a brand new day And I smile, blow the petals of the flower I was holding into the breeze... into your dreams.. Packing away my things I take another breath and whisper... thank you Snow 5/00
